Auditory and Visual Learning Behavioral Paradigms

In the Mowery lab we use a number auditory and visual behavioral paradigms. These are coupled with our in vivo and in vitro approaches so that we can ask questions about how the underlying neurophysiology guides learning and behavior. I am particularly interested in how auditory and visual manipulations in developing and adult animals affects cognition during decision making. Currently there is a large focus on cortical, thalamic, and striatal contributions to learning and memory in normal hearing animals versus animals with a history of hearing loss.
